What is a life coach?
A life coach is a coach that can help you get more from life. Some have a particular focus, such as managing relationships, choosing a career, health and fitness, discovering your passion and finding inner happiness, whereas others simply provide what you need, when you need it.
A life coach should be someone that lives life how you would like to live life, Or someone who has dealt with challenging situations similar to the ones you are facing, and has made it out the other side even stronger.
Does age matter?
This completely depends on your preferences. I chose a motherly woman as my life coach, I found that I could open up to this type of person easier then a man. However, there are coaches out there that are much younger. I, for example, am only 26. To some this can be off putting and I can understand why. I’ve not been through divorce and I’ve not been through the loss of a child. There’s things I haven’t experienced myself. However, I have lived through 2 divorces, I’ve made a million and lost a million, I’ve been heartbroken, I’ve never met my real Dad, I’ve been taken advantage of, walked all over and treated like a fool, I’ve been publicly humiliated on national TV twice and I’ve been completely broken. I’ve had my own share of challenges and come out stronger. There is no such thing as a mistake as long as you learn from it, and I’ve learnt just as much from my failures as I have from my successes. I currently have 2 properties, an online business, I travel the world, I support young entrepreneurs and the homeless, and I coach others as a business coach and life coach.
I’ve spent 18 months developing my own coaching program by coaching myself. I studied psychology, practiced multiple exercises for self-development, redefined my values, deep dove into my childhood to reprogram my entire belief system and forced myself to change my perception to a better, more fulfilled life. I’ve attended countless seminars, met with many inspirational leaders, read hundreds of self-development books, watched 100’s of motivational videos, learnt how to meditate, worked on myself with the Buddhist monks in Thailand, spent 7 days in pure silence and more recently worked with Auyhuasca, a plant based medicine that creates a mental shift. I’ve done the work on myself, so that I can help others do the same.
I’ve practiced techniques to discover who I am and become the best version of myself. Does age matter? You decide.
